To the Health and Spirituality Research Network members:
A question came to the leadership team this past week (April 2019) asking “What is grounding?” A medical professional claimed that it is scientifically supported.
This question was passed along to each of the leadership team, asking each to share their understanding of the expression “grounding.” It is an expression heard most often from individuals that are oriented in New-Age/Neo-Pagan/Progressive philosophy.
The answer from each team member is a response based upon his/her awareness of the foundational beliefs of this movement. A belief that a “universal energy,” “life force,” “cosmic energy,” “chi,” etc., permeates within and through every person and that it is of a dualistic nature. Physical and spiritual well-being is best achieved by having these dualistic forces (positive—negative, yin—yang) in perfect balance. Grounding is an act that is believed to bring the desired balance.
Where is the spiritualism in It? The concept that a cosmic force permeates through mankind is a core pantheistic doctrine, it is considered the “divine within,” “the latent godhood of man.” The life time goal of the Hindu is to recognize this “god within” and bring it into full development by various physical and mental acts (meditation, yoga) which will remove him from the reincarnation cycle and on to Nirvana, spirit heaven.
Paganism/nature worship is based in astrology wherein reverence is given to the sun, moon, and “mother earth.” The same ancient paganism which deceived Israel of old is presently deceiving modern spiritual Israel.

FIRST PART FROM INTERNET:
WHAT IS GROUNDING?
“To me grounding is about centering your energy so that it stays in your body and connected to the earth, rather than floating off up and away somewhere else. It’s like when you’re driving you want your tires to be on the road right? Not bouncing around like a 4X4 on a bunch of sand dunes.
I was talking to the boy friend about grounding – he’s one of the most grounded people I know – and while I was trying to explain why I needed to stay grounded and why it was hard sometimes I described it as my energy sometimes feeling like it’s slightly higher than my body. Sometimes it feels like my head is kind of above my head!”
Grounding 101 (Internet)
“IN JUST SIX MODULES YOU’LL LEARN HOW TO:
- Clear and protect your energy
- Get and stay grounded
- Feel and see your aura
- Work with and cleanse your Chakras
- Begin to hear the voice of your Higher Self above all the other ‘crap’ in your head
- Start to trust your intuition
- Meet and work with your Spirit Guides and Angels”
Spiritual Grounding
To ground or not to ground, that is the question!
Grounding is a buzzword found in books, articles, workshops and ceremonies. So what exactly is this grounding? Spiritual grounding is often explained as contact with Mother Earth and being present in the now. Spiritual grounding is to be in touch with nature, firmly planted on the ground, and in tune with our bodies. The word means just what it says—to be connected with the ground, to establish a strong and powerful energy connection with the earth. Grounding is used to make sure your electrical and magnetic energies are well balanced and mixed within you.
Grounding your thoughts, feelings, and spiritual experiences, i.e. any of the nonphysical aspects of being human, allows those aspects to become charged with the power to manifest in your life. If you have lots of wonderful spiritual experiences without being grounded, it can be difficult to integrate your experiences into your day to day life. Getting a terrific message from Spirit, and having no way to make it real for you in your daily life can be a frustrating experience. Coupled with the fact that we are conditioned to think in duality, i.e. Spirit lives up There, You live down Here. It takes time to integrate our spiritual life with our physical life, just as much as it takes time to learn the language of spirit.
Spiritual grounding can also help people who spend a lot of time in their intellect. If you have lots of ideas and insight, but difficulty manifesting them, grounding will help. Grounding is simply a process of getting our attention out of our heads and into our bodies. Most of us spend the day “thinking ahead” or “planning”, arranging our time, our jobs, you get the idea. Many of us run our body on autopilot, only giving it a thought if it hurts, or if it is tired…
Spirit is better reached, heard and understood if we are not over thinking it, but rather experiencing it. Most spiritual connections and communications do not come through words, or at least not words we can understand. Rather the language of spirit is a buzzing, or unintelligible. Or it could be a physical sensation like hot or cold. How can we know if Spirit is speaking to us if we are unfamiliar with the Language?
So, do we do that in circle? We rarely do a spiritual grounding meditation, so do we ground?
Good Question Grasshopper! Smudge, drums, rattles, sacred voices, dancing, spirit calling and whistling all serve to bring your further from your intellect and deeper into Body – Deeper into Spirit. Spiritual grounding looks different in different traditions.

( taken from Spiritualistic Practices in Healing chapter 14 on Crystal Healing )
“We now turn to the use of crystals in illness and disease. The discipline of crystal healing is totally dependent upon the hypothesis of universal energy and it’s believed negative and positive characteristics. This teaching is out of astrology. Subtle energy system concepts, such as electrical polarity, meridians, pressure points, chakras, aura, and subtle bodies, are used to assess and correct what are perceived as energy imbalances.
“Crystal healers view the human body in totally different ways than orthodox scientists and doctors. Completely different languages and terms are used respectively in each system. 1) Lilly, op. cit., p. 34
“A most important aspect of crystal healing is for the healer to be grounded and centered prior a healing session.
“Grounding means total focus. All energy believed to be passing through the body will remain in balance, but if any excess energy flows it will go into the earth where it is safely dissipated. Grounding is accomplished by the use of gems, usually dark colored; the best place to set them near the throat and coccyx. Grounding can be done by Hindu-type meditation, guided imagery, and visualization (using the imagination to create a view of the change desired), by tree meditation (visualizing a tree and its roots with the tree representing the healer and the roots the ground connection with mother earth).
Centering happens when all physical, mental, and emotional energies are integrated and balanced. Centering can be done by imagery and visualization such as drawing the earth energy up through your body by deep breathing focus, sight focus, or voice focus, or by sounding Om or Aum,” or by tapping in. Tapping in is done by tapping lightly with the finger tips on the chest below the clavicle on either side. It is said to bring into balance all of the “meridians of the body (meridians are energy flow channels of Chinese Traditional Medicine and not recognized to exist by science). 2) Ibid., pp 45-47.

According to the ancient Chinese philosophy and practice of Qigong (chi-kung), it is this practice and application of the principals contain, that are woven throughout, and “energize” all martial arts as well as energetic healing arts.
The principle of yin and yang prevalent throughout the Asian mystical arts, teaches that this “balance” between these two opposite, yet “equal” spiritual forces, must be maintained for optimum health to be achieved.
To them, the yang energy represents the forces of heaven, while the yin energy is said to be symbolic of earth. They believe and teach, that in order for there to be true life, health and also power, these 2 energies within the human body must be brought and maintained in perfect balance.
And in order for this mystical “energy” to flow throughout the body, the yin must be “grounded” to complete what is often now being referred to as the mystical electrical circuit. Many modern qigong and martial masters are now using pseudo-scientific terminology, in order to win the attention and favor of the western mind. But this we have been warned of . . .
SCIENCE FALSELY SO-CALLED ? I Timothy 6:20
Quote –
Satan and his hosts set themselves to overthrow the work of God. To fainting, unbelieving souls it may seem that the powers of darkness are about to prevail. Philosophy sets up reason as an antagonist of revelation. Science, falsely so called, directs the minds of men to the book of nature as a contradiction of the word of God.
Critics search the Scriptures to find some pretext for treating with contempt the words of Holy Writ. The base spirit of worldliness leads men to seek to throw off the claims of their Maker. And many who profess to reverence God’s word make war upon all who proclaim its plain and cutting truths. {RH, August 28, 1883 par. 2}

The theory that God is an essence pervading all nature is:
When grounded and centered the healer will then proceed to the therapeutic act of using the crystals and gemstones. The following are examples of ways that the healing sessions are to
received by many who profess to believe the Scriptures; . . . . but, however beautifully clothed, this theory is a most dangerous deception. It misrepresents God and is a dishonor to His greatness and majesty. And it surely tends not only to mislead, but to debase men.
Darkness is its element, sensuality its sphere. . . . These theories, followed to their logical conclusion, sweep away the whole Christian economy. They do away with the necessity for the atonement and make man his own savior.

In these days when skepticism and infidelity so often appear in a scientific garb, we need to be guarded on every hand. Through this means our great adversary is deceiving thousands, and leading them captive according to his will.
The advantage he takes of the sciences, sciences which pertain to the human mind, is tremendous. Here, serpent-like, he imperceptibly creeps in to corrupt the work of God.
This entering in of Satan through the sciences is well devised. Through the channel of phrenology, psychology, and mesmerism, he comes more directly to the people of this generation, and works with that power which is to characterize his efforts near the close of probation.
The minds of thousands have thus been poisoned, and led into infidelity. While it is believed that one human mind so wonderfully affects another, Satan, who is ready to press every advantage, insinuates himself, and works on the right hand and on the left. And while those who are devoted to these sciences, laud them to the heavens because of the great and good works which they affirm are wrought by them, they little know what a power for evil they are cherishing; but it is a power which will yet work with all signs and lying wonders,–with all deceivableness of unrighteousness.
Mark the influence of these sciences, dear reader; for the conflict between Christ and Satan is not yet ended. {ST, November 6, 1884 par. 2}

to Kok, Magna, Edwin, Eric
Hi Edwin:
In the Theosophy-oriented New Age center that I was a member of, the word “grounding” was used informally to describe the tendency of those on the mystical path to sometimes loose connection with the practical realities of everyday living on the earth plane. Our teacher often stated that she needed to regularly drink strong coffee in order to stay “grounded”. It was obvious she was very addicted to coffee, demonstrating the basic fake nature of New Age “holistic” spirituality. But at the time it didn’t dawn on me that something was “wrong”, I just blindly accepted her explanation.
I don’t recall the concept of mystical “grounding”, as described by Al Trace from Black Hills, being taught in other New Age centers with which I was involved, such as Findhorn and the Self Realization Fellowship. So I don’t think it is a teaching deriving from the heritage of Hinduism. From the information that Eric has kindly provided, it appears that this mystical “grounding” is a teaching from Chinese metaphysics.
In thinking about this, it may be of help for us in our communication, internal and external, to differentiate between the “Asian” (or “Eastern”) traditions of Hinduism/Buddhism and the distinctly Chinese traditions. In the past I’ve always tended to use the term “Eastern religions” and applied it to Hinduism and its offshoot of Buddhism, not realizing that Chinese and Japanese religions are “Eastern”, but have their own distinct heritage.
In Him,
Will

Work with and cleanse your Chakras ( the benefits of integration )
Begin to hear the voice of your Higher Self above all the other ‘crap’ in your head ( the spiritual entity is higher and superior )
Start to trust your intuition ( rely on your higher and superior self )
Meet and work with your Spirit Guides and Angels ( integration with your higher entity connects one to the divine )

Good Question Grasshopper!
Smudge, drums, rattles, sacred voices, dancing, spirit calling and whistling all serve to bring your further from your intellect and deeper into Body – Deeper into Spirit. Spiritual grounding looks different in different traditions. ( Full and deep integration is to go mystical )
The grounding that is being offered presumes that everyone has an inborn higher spiritual entity ( lie of the immortal soul) which though spiritual/mystical may be discovered and integrated beneficially into everyday life. This is in direct contradiction that everyone is born fallen, hence their lie ignores the FALL and eliminates the need for Christ.
Firstly “grounding” is expressed as pantheism ( which we know as the alpha heresy ) …. Then it is expressed panentheistically when unitive consciousness and energy is personified as VOICE of HIGHER SELF and allusion to Spirit Guides and Angels.
We are seeing a very subtle example of the omega heresy at work.
